COMPANY PROFILE
Gateway Air is a new consumer airline. It is being organized to take advantage of a specific gap in the short-haul domestic and regional travel market. The gap exists in low cost service out of every major city in Nigeria and West African sub region. The gap in the availability of low cost domestic flights services in and out of these cities coupled with the demand for passenger travel on selected routes indicate that a new entrant airline could be expected to capture a significant portion of current air travel business within the domestic sectors and the sub region.
Gateway Air will base its business and marketing strategies on achieving high, and profitable, load factors through absorption of unmet demand in three key air-traffic categories: unserved and under-served routes on which high unmet demand currently exists or can be readily developed; serving key niche markets where demand is either unmet or poorly served; and meeting peak traffic demands on certain key regional, seasonal, and variable routes where very high load factors can be predicted despite existing but lower-quality competition, or where competition cannot meet the demand.
Gateway Air is designed to, operate utilizing, the most up-to-date electronic,
informational, and aviation technologies to ensure low operating and marketing costs, maximum efficiency in deployment of its resources, and a high level of customer service and convenience. Dedicating the airline, its staff, and its organization to providing a high level of customer service and convenience, and efficiently meeting the needs, comfort, and safety of the passenger will assure the proposed Gateway Air rapid acceptance in
the marketplace and its long-term growth and success. The management team of Gateway Air comprises of people experienced in airline startups. The team comprises of personnel who were startup management that grew new Airlines from 2 Boeing 737 to as many as fleet of 18 aircrafts in two years. Revenues grew significantly as well in those two years period.
Gateway Air plan has the potential for a more rapid ramp-up than is often the case due to the nature of the low cost nature of services, and the demand for travel currently in the targeted markets to be served. In short, the frequency of flights needed to serve Gateway Air target market exceeds the demand for it today.
